iPhone Testing

April 24th, 2010 by Ben

If you’re here, that probably means you’re awesome, and have agreed to test Frogatto on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. To do so, you’ll need to download the latest build, unzip it, and drag both the provisioning profile, and the .app to iTunes, then sync with your device. If you are upgrading, you may need to delete the old version from your device first.

Frogatto 1.0.1 is selling on the app store. We’re now working on 1.0.3, which has a preference for reversing A and B buttons, and a button to skip dialogs (useful for bosses you have to retry), and some other things. There are no known issues, but we would like to get some testing before submitting it to the App Store.

Please leave comments below. When you do, please note the model of your device (iPhone 3GS, 2G iPod Touch, etc.), and the build number (r2387, for example). You can also email devteam@frogatto.com or talk to us on IRC (see contact page).

Note: These builds will only work for you if the date of the build is later than when you gave us your UDID.

    Using Build R2387, On an IPhone3GS 3.1.2 (7D11).

From a New Game, Go to Frogotto’s Grotto, Jump on the “Teleporter” and let it activate (odd transition to a “world map”) and navigate to Crevice Village.

Go right — no need to jump or anything — before you get to the ladder, the game exits back to the iphone app menu. Very easy to reproduce.

    Build r2500 on Iphone3G.

When the how to play is going on Frogatto says to press A to jump(on Iphone it’s B) and S to use attacks (which is B).

That was known, but your prompting got me to actually fix it finally!

Using r3133 iPhone 3GS, I noticed a couple black pixels that are stuck below the right arrow. Let me know if a screenshot is desired for clarification.

Also just a suggestion, although I’m sure it’s intentional, 2 up arrows seem redundant to indicate an opportunity for an action. Maybe just making the left up arrow flash or change colors is sufficient enough. I don’t personally don’t see purpose in using the right up arrow at all.

    Using R3456

I think its intentional maybe but it seems when you have a creature in your belly and go into the water you cant move or spit it out for 20 seconds or so.. Annoying with creatures killing you while you cant move.
